North East Wales Archive visit
North East Wales Archive visit

Becky Gittins, Labour MP for Clwyd East visited North East Wales Archives last week to find out more about our exciting ‘Creative Archives’ project and planned move to a new, purpose-built archive centre in Mold. Becky, along with Flintshire Councillor, Chris Bithell and Denbighshire Councillor, Emrys Wynne met staff and had a tour behind the scenes at the Old Rectory, Hawarden, where the historic archives for the county of Flintshire are currently housed. They then visited the proposed site in Mold to see where the new, passivhaus archives centre will be located.

Becky Gittins said:

“The archive project is a really exciting opportunity to bring together the collective histories of people in North East Wales. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to see the Flintshire archives in Hawarden and I look forward to visiting the new purpose built site which will contain even more historical gems from both Flintshire and Denbighshire.”
